The Personal Involvement Center has partnered with the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Social Services to provide the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG). This Financial Assistance Program is designed to help anyone on or off Government Assistance.

The CSBG program is designed to provide a range of services to assist low income individuals and families in attaining the skills, knowledge and motivation necessary to achieve self sufficiency.

The CSBG program is designed to introduce the reality of the college experience to all students. There is no cost to anyone, most low-income individuals and families can qualify to receive services.

We strive to improve the quality of life for families and individuals in need; regardless of their race, creed or color. It is our understanding that any and everyone can and should have the opportunity go to college and work toward a degree or certificate in Child Development or a related field.

CBSG will assist students in purchasing books and supplies, health fees; bus passes, parking passes.. It will also assist with child care fees, if the child is in a licensed facility (ages birth-10yrs). Child Care is provided during student’s school hours only.

Students may attend any Community College in the Los Angeles area; i.e. Los Angeles Southwest, Los Angeles Trade Tech, El Camino, Compton, West L.A., and Santa Monica. Personal Involvement Center can provide linkage to assist students with other additional needs.

Most low income individuals and families are qualified to receive CSBG services. With your participation in the CBSG program our community will be revitalized and the lives of low income families will be improved.
